Study Comparing Two Pre-Surgery Treatments for HER2-Positive Breast Cancer

This clinical trial is comparing two different pre-surgery treatment plans for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer to see which one is more effective in eliminating cancer cells before surgery.

Program Overview
This study is testing two treatment combinations given before surgery to see which is better at eliminating cancer in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. One group will receive a combination of Docetaxel, Carboplatin, Herceptin, and Perjeta, while the other group will receive Docetaxel, Herceptin, and Perjeta. The goal is to find out which treatment leads to a higher rate of complete cancer disappearance before surgery.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Must be able to understand the study and agree to participate.
- 18 years or older.
- Diagnosed with specific types of HER2-positive breast cancer.
- No previous surgery, chemotherapy, or other treatments for the current breast cancer.
- Good overall health with a performance status of 0 or 1.
- Recent breast and lymph node imaging.
- Willing to provide a tumor sample for research.
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding and agree to use contraception if of childbearing potential.
- Adequate blood, liver, and heart function as shown by recent tests.
Exclusion Criteria
- Currently using other experimental treatments.
- Cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
- Have inflammatory breast cancer.
- Have another cancer that could interfere with the study.
- Allergic to any of the study drugs.
- Any condition that could affect participation or study results.
- Pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
