Program Overview
This study is for patients with advanced prostate cancer that has spread and no longer responds to standard hormone treatments. The trial aims to test the safety and effectiveness of a new therapy called AB-3028, which uses modified T cells from the patient's own immune system to target and attack cancer cells. These T cells are specially designed to recognize proteins found on prostate cancer cells, potentially helping the immune system to destroy the cancer while avoiding damage to healthy tissues.
Description
The trial is divided into two phases. Phase 1 focuses on determining the safest dose of AB-3028, while Phase 2 evaluates how well the treatment works. AB-3028 involves using the patient's own T cells, which are modified in the lab to recognize specific proteins on prostate cancer cells. These modified T cells are then infused back into the patient through an IV. After receiving the treatment, patients will be monitored regularly to assess safety, tolerability, and how well the cancer responds. This research aims to gather new information that could benefit future patients with prostate cancer.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of prostate cancer that has spread and is resistant to hormone therapy.
- Previously treated with at least one androgen receptor pathway inhibitor.
- Cancer must show specific markers (PSMA+) and be measurable by scans or blood tests.
- Have adequate organ function.
Exclusion Criteria
- Have received any systemic therapy for prostate cancer within 14 days before the required blood cell collection.
- Have cancer that has spread to the brain or spinal cord.
- Not willing to participate in extended safety monitoring.
