Study on Delivering a Diuretic to the Liver Artery and Blocking the Artery to Target Liver Cancer Cells

Sponsor: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Sponsor score: 60

ClinicalTrials ID:NCT03107416

This clinical trial is testing the safety of using a diuretic called Bumetanide, delivered directly into the liver artery, followed by blocking the artery to cut off the blood supply to liver cancer cells. The study aims to find out how different doses of Bumetanide affect patients undergoing this procedure as part of their regular treatment.

Patient Parameters

Program Overview

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of Bumetanide, a medication commonly used to reduce excess water in the body, when it is delivered directly into the liver artery. This is followed by a procedure to block the artery, aiming to starve liver cancer cells by cutting off their blood supply. The study will test different doses of Bumetanide to observe its effects on patients who are already receiving this treatment as part of their standard care.
