Phase II Study of Pembrolizumab and Nab-paclitaxel for HER-2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer

Sponsor: NYU Langone Health

Sponsor score: 40

ClinicalTrials ID:NCT02752685

This clinical trial is testing a combination of two drugs, pembrolizumab and nab-paclitaxel, to see if they are safe and effective in treating patients with HER-2 negative metastatic breast cancer. The study includes two groups of patients: those with triple negative breast cancer and those with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

Patient Parameters

Program Overview

This study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of combining two drugs, pembrolizumab and nab-paclitaxel, in treating patients with HER-2 negative metastatic breast cancer. The trial involves two groups: one with triple negative breast cancer and another with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. Initially, a small group of patients will be monitored for safety. If no unexpected side effects occur, more patients will be enrolled. The study will also look at whether a specific marker, PD-L1, can predict how well the treatment works.
