Study on Using ICG Dye for Better Imaging During Surgery for Head and Neck Cancer

This clinical trial is testing whether a special dye called Indocyanine Green (ICG) can help doctors see head and neck tumors more clearly during surgery. The study involves using this dye along with standard care during surgical procedures, and participation lasts about 6 weeks.

Program Overview
This study is for adults with head and neck cancer who may be at risk of the cancer coming back. The goal is to find out if using a dye called Indocyanine Green (ICG) can help surgeons better identify cancerous tissue during operations. Participants will receive the dye and undergo imaging during their surgery, along with their regular medical care. The study will take about 6 weeks to complete.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- Diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma originating from the mucosal areas of the head and neck
- Suitable candidate for surgery
- Able to understand and agree to the study by providing informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
- Women who are pregnant
- Individuals with known allergies to iodides or shellfish
- Individuals who are currently incarcerated
