Program Overview
The aim of this study is to evaluate how well Acoustic Cluster Therapy (ACT) works and how safe it is when used alongside chemotherapy for treating locally advanced pancreatic cancer. ACT involves using a drug called PS101 and ultrasound to target the tumor, and it is given together with chemotherapy over several cycles.
Description
Patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer who have not yet received any treatment for their cancer will participate in this study. They will receive ACT, which includes a drug called PS101 and ultrasound applied to the tumor, along with up to eight cycles of chemotherapy using a regimen called modified FOLFIRINOX. Each cycle lasts two weeks.
ACT treatment will be administered on the first day of each chemotherapy cycle. During the study, doctors will monitor patients' health and any side effects they experience. The effectiveness of the treatment will be checked with CT scans every eight weeks to see how the cancer is responding.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Patients who cannot have surgery to cure their pancreatic cancer and have been diagnosed with inoperable or borderline resectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
- Patients who are suitable to receive modified FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy, as determined by the study doctor.
Exclusion Criteria
- Patients who have already received any treatment for pancreatic cancer, such as chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation. However, procedures like palliative bypass or bile duct stenting are allowed.
