Study on Reduced Radiation and Chemotherapy for HPV-Positive Throat Cancer

Sponsor: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Sponsor score: 60

ClinicalTrials ID:NCT06984861

This clinical trial is exploring whether using lower doses of radiation therapy, along with standard chemotherapy, is as effective as the usual higher doses for treating HPV-positive throat cancer. The chemotherapy drugs used in this study include cisplatin, carboplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU).

Patient Parameters

Program Overview

The aim of this study is to find out if using lower doses of radiation therapy, combined with standard chemotherapy, can effectively treat HPV-positive throat cancer. Researchers want to see if this approach works as well as the traditional higher doses of radiation. The chemotherapy drugs involved are cisplatin, carboplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU).
