Description
This study is testing a new approach to treating advanced thyroid cancer by using a drug called zanzalintinib before surgery. Eligibility Criteria
Exclusion Criteria
- Patients with medullary thyroid cancer that have specific genetic mutations (RET mutations) cannot participate.
- Patients who have previously been treated with zanzalintinib or similar drugs are not eligible.
- Patients who have received certain cancer treatments, including chemotherapy or radiation, within a few weeks before starting the study treatment are not eligible.
- Patients with untreated or unstable brain metastases are not eligible unless they have been treated and are stable.
- Patients taking certain blood thinners or medications that affect blood clotting may not be eligible.
- Patients with certain medical conditions, such as uncontrolled heart problems, recent blood clots, or significant bleeding issues, are not eligible.
- Patients with active infections or certain viral infections, like hepatitis or HIV, may not be eligible unless they meet specific criteria.
- Patients who have had major surgery recently or have not fully recovered from previous surgeries are not eligible.
- Patients with certain psychiatric conditions or who are unable to swallow tablets are not eligible.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women cannot participate.
- Patients with other active cancers that require treatment may not be eligible.
