Program Overview
The purpose of this study is to find out if the drug sacituzumab govitecan (also known as Trodelvy®) is more effective than the standard treatments for patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) who have already been treated. The main goals are to compare how well the new drug works in shrinking tumors and improving survival rates compared to the usual treatments.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
- Be in good overall health with an ECOG performance status of 0 or 1, meaning fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity but ambulatory.
- Have cancer that can be measured by scans like CT or MRI.
- Have shown disease progression after at least two cycles of previous platinum-based chemotherapy, with or without additional treatment targeting PD-1 or PD-L1 proteins.
Exclusion Criteria
- Have less than 30 days between the last dose of first-line platinum chemotherapy and the progression of the disease.
- Have received previous treatments with specific drugs like irinotecan, topotecan, sacituzumab govitecan, or similar agents.
- Have untreated cancer that has spread to the brain or spinal cord. Patients with treated brain metastases can participate if their condition has been stable for at least four weeks, with no new symptoms or growths, and they are on a low dose of steroids (10 mg/day or less).
