Program Overview

The study aims to evaluate a new approach to treating small lung tumors using a single session of CT-guided stereotactic adaptive radiotherapy. This method could significantly shorten the treatment process, making it more accessible for patients who live far from treatment centers. The new technique uses advanced imaging and motion management to deliver precise radiation therapy without the need for multiple appointments.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Diagnosed with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (stage I-IIA) or have small lung tumors that have spread from another type of cancer.
  • Tumors must be small (5 cm or less) and located away from the central airways.
  • Tumors should be suitable for a single session of radiation therapy, as determined by a pre-treatment scan.
  • Tumors must not move more than 1 cm during breathing, as shown by a special CT scan.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Able to understand and willing to sign a consent form.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have had previous radiation treatment in the area where the new treatment is planned.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not eligible. A negative pregnancy test is required within 14 days before treatment.
