Program Overview

The aim of this study is to determine if the new drug DCC-3009 is safe and works well for treating gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). The study will be conducted in two parts: the first part will find the best dose of the drug, and the second part will test how well it works. Participants will receive treatment in 28-day cycles, and the study may last up to two years.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Have advanced or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) that cannot be removed by surgery and has a specific genetic mutation.
  • Have tried at least one approved treatment for GIST that did not work or was not tolerated.
  • Have at least one tumor that can be measured by scans.
  • Be in good overall health with a performance status of 0 or 1, meaning fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity but ambulatory.
  • Have good organ and bone marrow function, and normal electrolyte levels.
  • Agree to use contraception during the study.
  • Have a life expectancy of more than 3 months.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have received cancer treatment or radiation therapy within 14 days before starting the study drug.
  • Have another active cancer that requires treatment.
  • Have cancer that has spread to the brain or an active brain cancer.
  • Have significant heart problems.
  • Have had major surgery within 28 days before starting the study drug.
  • Have had blood clots in arteries or veins recently.
  • Have an allergy to any part of the study drug.
  • Have a condition that affects the absorption of oral medications.
  • Have any other significant health issues.
