Program Overview

Description

This is a Phase 3 study, which means it is in the later stages of testing. The study is being conducted worldwide and involves patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who have already received one type of chemotherapy treatment. Participants will be randomly divided into two groups: one group will receive the new drug RMC-6236, and the other group will receive the standard chemotherapy treatment chosen by their doctor. The main goal is to see if RMC-6236 can help patients live longer or keep the cancer from progressing compared to the standard treatment. The study will also monitor the safety of the new drug and any side effects that may occur.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Must be at least 18 years old and agree to participate in the study.
  • Must be in good general health, able to carry out all normal activities or only restricted in physically strenuous activity.
  • Must have a confirmed diagnosis of metastatic pancreatic cancer.
  • Must have cancer that can be measured by scans or tests.
  • Must have good organ function, including bone marrow, liver, and kidneys.
  • Must have a specific type of genetic mutation in the RAS gene.
  • Must be able to take oral medications.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Cannot have had previous treatment with drugs that directly target the RAS gene.
  • Cannot have cancer that has spread to the brain or spinal cord.
  • Cannot have any medical conditions that would interfere with taking or absorbing the study medication.
  • Cannot have had major surgery within the last four weeks.
  • Must be willing and able to attend all study visits and follow the study procedures.
