Description

This study is for patients with advanced cancer that has not responded to standard treatments. It aims to see if using genomic testing to select targeted therapies can help patients live longer without their cancer getting worse. Patients will receive a treatment plan based on the results of their genetic tests, as recommended by a specialized team of cancer experts. The study will compare the time patients live without their cancer progressing on this new treatment to the time they lived without progression on their last treatment. This approach allows researchers to use each patient as their own control, providing a personalized assessment of the treatment's effectiveness.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Have a confirmed or suspected solid or blood cancer and have had or will have genetic testing of the tumor.
  • Have tried first-line therapy for their cancer without success or have no curative treatment options.
  • Have either measurable or non-measurable cancer.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a performance status score of 3 or less, indicating varying levels of activity.
  • If they have brain metastases, treatment must be completed at least one day before joining the study, and they must be on a stable dose of steroids or not need steroids.
  • Be able to understand and willing to sign a consent form.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have had chemotherapy or radiotherapy within the last 3 weeks (or 6 weeks for certain drugs) before joining the study, or have not recovered from side effects of previous treatments.
  • Have uncontrolled health issues, such as ongoing infections, heart problems, or psychiatric conditions that could interfere with the study.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Are HIV positive with low CD4 counts or not on a stable antiretroviral therapy for at least one month before joining the study.
