Program Overview

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a blood cancer with the CD123 marker, confirmed by lab tests.
  • Have relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (HR-MDS) with at least 5% bone marrow blasts.
  • Have tried at least one previous treatment and have no other treatment options available.
  • Be in relatively good health with an ECOG performance status of 0, 1, or 2, meaning fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity but ambulatory.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have active leukemia in the central nervous system.
  • Have previously received any treatment targeting CD123.
  • Have had a stem cell transplant within the last 90 days or cell therapy within the last 60 days.
  • Have active graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) needing treatment within 4 weeks before starting AZD9829.
  • Have a history of other cancers, with some exceptions.
  • Have active and uncontrolled infections.
  • Have unresolved side effects from previous treatments that are severe (Grade 2 or higher).
