Program Overview

The purpose of this study is to determine if combining surgery with a special heated chemotherapy treatment, known as HIPEC, can lead to better results for patients with stage III ovarian cancer. The study will compare outcomes between patients who receive surgery with HIPEC and those who have surgery without it.

Description

This study is investigating whether adding a heated chemotherapy treatment during surgery can improve outcomes for patients with stage III ovarian cancer. The main goal is to see if this combination can lead to better results compared to surgery alone, while keeping side effects manageable. The study is focused on patients who are eligible for surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible, with no remaining cancer or very small amounts left (up to 2.5 mm).

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Eligible for primary surgery to remove ovarian cancer.
  • Diagnosed with stage III ovarian, fallopian tube, or related cancers confirmed by lab tests.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have had other cancers within the last 5 years.
  • Have stage IV ovarian cancer.
  • Surgery cannot completely remove the cancer.
  • Have received any treatment for the current ovarian cancer.
