Study on Using a Dye to Detect Cancer in the Tongue and Mouth

This clinical trial is testing a new dye, called PARPi-FL, to see if it can help detect cancer in the tongue and mouth. This is the first time PARPi-FL is being used in humans. The study will check the safety of the dye at different doses and determine the best amount to use for detecting these cancers.

Program Overview
The aim of this study is to find out if a new dye, PARPi-FL, can be used to identify cancer in the tongue and mouth. Researchers will first test the safety of the dye at various doses to see how it affects people. They will also determine which dose is most effective for detecting these types of cancer.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma in the mouth or throat.
- Scheduled for surgery at MSK.
- Any stage of tumor, with no distant spread (M0).
- Be in good overall health with an ECOG performance status of 0 or 1, meaning fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity but ambulatory.
Exclusion Criteria
- Have had surgery in the mouth or throat area within the last 2 weeks.
- Have previously been treated with a PARP1 inhibitor.
- Have known allergies to Olaparib.
- Have known allergies to PEG. Eligibility will be assessed by an experienced oral surgeon, usually the co-leader of the study.
