The ComboMATCH trial is designed to find the best treatment options for patients with advanced solid tumors by using genetic testing. This testing looks at the unique genetic makeup of a patient's tumor to identify specific mutations. Patients whose tumors have certain genetic changes may benefit from treatments that specifically target those mutations. The goal is to match patients to treatments that could help control their cancer and improve treatment planning for others with similar conditions.
Description
The main goal of this study is to register and assign patients to different treatment trials within the ComboMATCH program. These trials focus on using targeted therapies for patients with specific genetic mutations in their tumors.
Patients will undergo genetic testing of their tumor samples to identify any mutations. Those with specific mutations will be assigned to one of 20 different treatment plans. Each plan involves a combination of drugs that target the identified mutations.
For example, patients with certain ovarian or endometrial cancers may receive a combination of drugs like selumetinib and olaparib. Others with breast cancer may receive fulvestrant and binimetinib. The study also includes patients with other types of cancer, such as pancreatic or biliary tract cancers, who will receive different drug combinations based on their genetic mutations.
Throughout the trial, patients will have regular check-ups, including scans and blood tests, to monitor their response to the treatment. The study aims to find out how well these targeted therapies work and if they can improve outcomes for patients with advanced solid tumors.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Have a measurable solid tumor that is locally advanced or has spread to other parts of the body.
- Have tried at least one standard treatment that did not work, or have no standard treatment options available.
- Be 18 years or older and able to undergo a tumor biopsy for research purposes, or have a previously collected tumor sample available.
- Have genetic testing results from a designated laboratory showing specific mutations in the tumor.
- Be in good overall health with a performance status score of 0 to 2, meaning fully active or able to carry out light work.
- Be potentially eligible for a ComboMATCH treatment trial as assessed by the enrolling provider.
- For patients under 18, have an available archival tumor tissue specimen for research purposes.
