Program Overview

This study is investigating a new treatment option for people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), which are types of blood cancer. Researchers want to find out if taking the drug nemtabrutinib can help patients live longer without their cancer growing, spreading, or coming back, compared to those receiving standard chemoimmunotherapy treatments.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) and need treatment.
  • Have not received any previous treatment for CLL/SLL and do not have TP53 gene changes.
  • Must be able to swallow and keep down oral medication.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have an active hepatitis B or C infection.
  • Have digestive issues that could affect how the body absorbs medication, such as having had gastric bypass surgery.
  • Have another type of cancer that is getting worse or has needed treatment in the last 3 years, except for certain skin cancers or early-stage cancers that have been treated.
  • Have a history of severe bleeding problems.
  • Have not fully recovered from major surgery or have ongoing complications from surgery.
