Program Overview

This study is testing a new treatment option for patients with advanced squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread to other parts of the body. Researchers are comparing the effectiveness of Ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy against Pembrolizumab combined with chemotherapy. The main goal is to see which treatment helps patients live longer, while also looking at how long the cancer stays under control and the safety of the treatments.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Have a good overall health status, able to carry out daily activities with minimal restrictions.
  • Expected to live at least 3 more months.
  • Have advanced (Stage IV) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread.
  • Cancer must be confirmed as squamous type through lab tests.
  • Tumor must show a certain level of PD-L1 protein.
  • Have at least one tumor that can be measured by scans, not in the brain.
  • Have not received any previous treatment for advanced NSCLC.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have a different type of lung cancer, such as small cell lung cancer or non-squamous NSCLC.
  • Have specific genetic changes in the cancer that can be treated with other approved drugs.
  • Have already received treatment for NSCLC in its advanced stage.
  • Have tumors that are invading or surrounding important organs or blood vessels, which could increase the risk of bleeding.
