Program Overview

Pancreatic cancer is a leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., with limited treatment options, especially for advanced cases. This study is testing a combination of two drugs, cabozantinib and atezolizumab, which have shown promise in early studies. Patients with advanced pancreatic cancer that hasn't responded to other treatments will receive this combination to see if it can help control the disease. Researchers will measure how well the treatment works by looking at how many patients' tumors shrink or stop growing, how long patients live, and how long they stay free of disease progression. The safety and side effects of the treatment will also be closely monitored.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Have stage IV pancreatic cancer confirmed by medical tests.
  • Cancer must have progressed after or not responded to at least one standard chemotherapy treatment.
  • Have measurable disease as shown by recent imaging tests.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have adequate organ and bone marrow function based on specific blood test results.
  • Have stable blood pressure or controlled with medication.
  • Test negative for hepatitis B and C.
  • Have a performance status indicating ability to carry out daily activities.
  • Have recovered from any side effects of previous treatments.
  • Agree to use effective birth control during and after the study.
  • Women must not be pregnant and must confirm their menopausal status if applicable.
  • Be able to understand and sign a consent form.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have previously been treated with cabozantinib or atezolizumab.
  • Have received certain other cancer treatments recently.
  • Have untreated or unstable brain metastases.
  • Have significant heart, lung, or other medical conditions that are not well controlled.
  • Have active infections or autoimmune diseases that require treatment.
  • Have had major surgery recently without full recovery.
  • Be pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
  • Have allergies to the study drugs or their components.
  • Have another active cancer requiring treatment.
