Program Overview
This study is exploring a new method of stem cell transplantation for treating blood cancers in children and adults. The process involves removing specific immune cells, known as T cell receptor alpha/beta cells, from the stem cell transplant. The goal is to determine if this method is safe and can help treat various blood cancers, such as leukemia and myelodysplasia.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Diagnosed with a blood cancer, such as leukemia or myelodysplasia.
- Specific types of leukemia, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
- Myelodysplasia with certain risk factors, like severe anemia or high-risk genetic features.
- Aged 60 years or younger.
- In good general health, with a performance status score of 70% or higher for adults, or a play score of 50% or higher for children under 16.
- Have adequate organ function.
Exclusion Criteria
- Pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have an active, uncontrolled infection within one week before starting treatment.
- Tested positive for HIV or have active Hepatitis B or C with detectable virus levels.
- Have had a previous stem cell transplant.
- In a blast crisis phase of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).
- Have an active cancer in the central nervous system.
