Program Overview

This study is exploring a new type of stem cell transplant for patients with blood cancers, using donor cells that have been treated to remove specific immune cells (T and B cells). The goal is to see if this method can help the donor cells successfully grow in the patient's body and reduce the risk of complications like graft versus host disease (GVHD). The study will also track how many patients remain free of leukemia one year after the transplant.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Have certain types of blood cancers, such as:
    • Acute myeloid leukemia in remission or with less than 10% cancer cells in the bone marrow
    • Myelodysplasia
    • Acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission
    • Chronic myelogenous leukemia in various phases
    • Mixed lineage or biphenotypic acute leukemia
    • Lymphoblastic lymphoma in remission
    • Burkitt's lymphoma/leukemia in remission
  • Have acceptable organ function
  • No active untreated infections; if a fungal infection is suspected, must have had at least 2 weeks of treatment and no symptoms
  • Agree to participate and sign an informed consent form
  • Women of childbearing age must have a negative pregnancy test

Exclusion Criteria

  • Do not meet the disease, organ, or infection criteria
  • No suitable donor available
  • Have had a previous donor stem cell transplant

The donor must be either unrelated or mismatched by up to one antigen/allele, or a related donor who is not a sibling.
